Mike Rubini is a talented performer, teacher and composer.

Graduating in saxophone performance, Mike has been studying classical and contemporary music from an early age. Recently, he received his master’s degree in jazz performance, summa cum laude.

Attending “The New School for Jazz and Contemporary Music” as a scholarship holder, he had the possibility to study with some great musicians of the international jazz scene.

Mike has experienced many important performances where he has played or studied with notable artists such as Benny Golson, Eddie Henderson, Randy Brecker, Bob Mintzer, Eddie Daniels, Dave Liebman, Lew Tabackin, Vince Mendoza, Joe Lovano and more.

Currently he is studying composition and conducting his own research, which aims to search for freedom of expression in the formally-expressed composed material.

Since 2011 he is working with his quartet, which has appeared in important jazz festivals in Italy including Umbria Jazz.

Rubini strives to make music that moves people to enjoy and experience a wide array of emotions and hope to make an impact in the music scene as an open-minded and innovative musician.
